Using a few special tools you can make SWAG for your own library or add it to your library's makerspaces collection. After to seeing sublimation at a county library I was excited to bring it into my own library with hopes of having students be able to learn some graphic arts skill while learning how to use Adobe Illustrator, Google Draw, and other creating software. Students can bring in their own items to sublimate and we help them create and print their work. We've really just started this and have only had the libraries sublimation station for a couple of months and we're excited to see our students get creative and learn new skills. Scroll down to see what we've learned since beginning this sublimation journey. If you have any questions, please email me at [email protected]. Steps to sublimation

Let's Talk ICC profilesICC stands for International Color Consortium and these files manage the colors from just about anything. There are profiles for items such as cameras, computers, monitors, printers, etc. so that the colors remain the same no mather where you are olling at them. When you buy a printer, it has an ICC profile already installed. However, that is for the ink the comes with the printer. When you convert a regular inkjet printer to a sublimation printer, the ICC profile no longer matches the ICC profile on the printer. You will need to contact the ink company to get the approprate ICC for your printer and sublimation paper. You may also need to change the ICC profile for you monitor you are using to create and print your sublimation projects. (I haven't tried this yet, but I'm sure it will be an inprovement when selecting colors on my screen) Here is the file for Hiipoo sublimation ink and A-Sublimation paper for a Epson ET-4700 printer

We start off the month with students complete the brackets in their English classes and have the them all turned in by the end of the first week so there isn't any cheating. Each week after that is step in the bracket, Sweet 16, Elite 8, Final 4, and Championship.
The is a interactive bracket on a spreadsheet that is attached to the voting forms and will update in real time as students vote. I usually put this up on a monitor in my library so students can see what book is ahead. I don't limit how many times a student can vote for a book. I think if they are that vested in it an willing to do it, good for them. During this pandemic it is important that students still make connections with their classmates. To help students, even students who are dissence learners, to get to know their classmates we thought it would play a game of Connect 4: Friendship Edition. Below you can download the fillable form game card.
